Hi!
WOW! Your site has really improved since last season!!
Thanks!
Pam
Yes,
you see correctly. I'm
a Viking Loyalist in Hated Packer Country. This is not an easy task,
but if I can get inlisted in the Purple Army it would help me to
continue my fight here behind enemy lines.
Being born in 1962 in Minneapolis I have stood behind my
beloved Vikings through thick and thin. I saw you guys on KBJR TV 6
and new I had to join.
Thanks Wayne
I
would really like to order a pair of purple camo pants!
I have been a Viking fan since the days of
Doug Sutherland, a personal friend! ASAP
awesome merchandise!
Cindy
I
consider myself to be one of the most loyal Viking fans through
thick andthin. I hate
to even mention the comparison, but it is good to see fans as
loyally obnoxious as the drips across the bridge.
I am applying for membership to join an elite group and to
take part. I have seen the preacher and I must say it was a most
enjoyable experience. He
was baptizing a little packer fan into Vikingland and changing him
over. Please accept this application for membership and I look
forward to reading more.....
Tom
What
kind (if any) products do you have for sale for a severely misplaced
(Maxwell AFB, AL 36112) Vikes fan?
Hey
guys,
I
just wanted to write you a little note about your news gig.
I, too am a tried and true Vikaholic.
I am one of the only people to predict publically (WEBC
radio, KFAN, etc.etc.) prior to training camp that the Vikes will go
to the Super Bowl after a record of 12 and 4 (losing to Tampa in
Tampa, G.B. in G. B., St. Louis and Indy).
In fact I have an on air bet with Lew Latto. Any way, my
purple passion caused me to invent the Rally Horn.
I was deeply saddened to see my competitors (the long purple
horn) on the news broadcast.
The
true and authentic Rally Horn is sold at the Dome, made in the
U.S.A., owned by three Duluthians, and produces the realistic
Baroooooo!! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves!!(Just kidding)
By the way, the Rally Horn holds a stadium cup of your
favorite beverage. So,
be true to the Vikes, be true to Duluth and the U.S.A..
stop by Cardboard Heroes at Canal Park, or just pick them up
at the game. If it is
good enough for Ragnar, it has to be good enough for you guys!!!!!
REMEMBER, GO VIKES!!!
Marilyn
I
saw the piece on T.V. thought was great!!!!I would like to check
into get some of the uniform, the pants to be exact, for christmas gifts. Please send me the info, thanks. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
A Viking fan!
Eleanor
we
all must do whatever it takes to ensure our beloved Vikes never move.
Kathy
I
grew up in a Vikings fanatical family.
Dad would hurry us out of church every Sunday so we wouldn't
miss kickoff. Sunday
dinners consisted of a traditional roast beef dinner, sandwiched
between the two halves, and gulped down so that we wouldn't miss too
much of the halftime updates. Ladies didn't play tackle football,
instead we played volleyball. Although the only "hands-on"
football I played was PowderPuff in college, I took coaching and
officiating football classes in college to get my coaching
certification (the only female in the classes).
So here's my somewhat educated, and admittedly possible
misguided view:
OFFENSE
Randy Moss and Chris Carter ~ they remind me of C.C. and A.C. during
C.Carter's first years as a Viking C.Carter is passing along his
experience to a highly talented Moss, while continuing to contribute
with his incredible receptions, on his way to the Hall of Fame.
Robert Smith benefits from the awesome blocking of
Kleinsasser and the threat of Culpepper's scrambling, both
contribute to his 4th consecutive 1000+ yard season, but you cannot
overlook his amazing talent in finding the tiniest open hole.
Birk I was disappointed to see Christy go, but impressed with
what the young Birk is doing. Getting better play every week, fewer miscues on
snapping...it'll all be good. Culpepper
~ I'm the first to admit that I was a doubting Thomas.
I thought this would be a very painful rebuilding year, and
was anxious to see if Bauman could, and if Denny would let him,
perform under NFL pressure instead of the World League.
I don't follow much college ball, so the only thing I knew
about Dante was the media coverage and what I saw during last year's
season (remember his screw-up last year in taking a knee?)
WOW...was I WRONG!!! Maybe
it was his work in the off season, but I don't think so.
An amazingly powerful, intelligent, and BIG quarterback like
Dante is exactly what we needed! He's only getting better as the
season progresses..long gone are the days of focusing in only on the
primary receiver! And
his scrambling/rushing ability with that speed Imagine him next
year...pro bowl bound I'm sure!
Time management ~ much improved over last year!!!
DEFENSE
Secondary ~ YIKES! They're
playing too soft, but get burnt 1-1. Dishman performed the duties
the Vikes expected from him, but let's give T. Carter some
experience, the former Gopher will thrive!
Secondary is already our weakest area, lets give it a chance
at getting some life. ine~we need to step up the pass rush!
We're better at plugging the holes.
What about the bounce-off tackling?
The Vikes need to wrap them up, then worry about the strip.
Penalties are killing us...between false starts and off-sides..need
I Say more?
SPECIAL
TEAMS I like watching the competitiveness of football, play
development, and execution. However
all that disappears when Chris Walsh steps on the field.
Then it's all about butt!
If I weren't happliy married I'd be stalking him :)
But seriously, where were our other "hands" during
the on-sides attempt by Arizona?
From my "birds-eye-view" (8th to the last row in
the upper deck-the row where the steel pillars hold up the dome)
Walsh was the only "hands" number I saw... I hope I was
wrong.
Anderson/Burger
~ Two of the best! Consistent, Dependable, Producers. You have to overlook the botched attempt in GreenBay,
everyone's entitled to a mistake or two, and Burger's readiness to
accept responsibility was refreshing.
Besides, I'm sure he'll never do THAT again! Defending
against the field goal ~ Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to see
a little "lift" in attempting to block either an extra
point or F.G. attempt by Arizona.
I'd love to see Minnesota do more of it. I understand not wanting to get beat by a fake, but that
doesn't change the fact that a blocked field goal can make or break
a game.
AND
LASTLY..THE FANS Tailgating fans are great!
Although women are outnumbered, the men are ready to pass the
ball with us, talk trash, or debate the decisions of various plays
from the previous week(s). We
do get the occasional jerk that thinks we're there just to get a
date or watch the players' butts, but those men are few and far
between. (The fans on the plaza may want to stroll through the
tailgating lots just to see what's going on and what they're
missing!)
Jennifer
Dear
Purple Army:
You
could definitely be my heros! I
have a brother who lives deep in the thick of Packer country,
married to a 100% Packer Backer (her only flaw that I can tell - but
it's major). Anyway, he
is a diehard Viking fan, has bartended at the Packer Hall of Fame
wearing Viking socks, tie; etc.
Has attended many Packer games wearing full Viking garb, and
of course, has worn all purple and gold at the official
Viking/Packer games. Any
little thing to needle a bit.
Here
is my request. I saw
your TV spot a week ago and was impressed and noticed immediately
the dashing uniforms you were sporting.
My brother would die for a pair of those camo pants and since
I have his name for Christmas - I COULD BE A HERO!!!
Please
point me in the right direction to purchase a pair. I would also like to enroll him as a member of the Purple
Army so you could assist me in that detail as well.
Your
speedy answer to my e-mail would be greatly appreciated.
Thank
you.
Geri
