Fran
was almost instant star with four TD passes in his
first game in 1961. He moved to New York in 1967 and
then came back to the Vikings in 1972. When he
retirement he led lifetime passers in attempts
(6,467), completions (3,686), yards (47,003) and
touchdowns (342). He was an exciting, elusive
scrambler who could run with the ball. He rushed for
3,674 yards, 32 TDs in his carrer. He also Led
Vikings to three Super Bowls, was voted All-NFL four
times and earned nine Pro Bowl selections. Born
February 3, 1940, in Richmond, Virginia.

page Consensus All-America in 1966 and a first-round
pick in 1967. He mad his mark on the NFL with his
speed, strength and cat-like reflexes. He Played in
236 straight games, including four Super Bowls. In
1971 Alan was named NFL's Most Valuable Player and
was named the NFC Defensive Player of Year four
times. He was also voted All NFL/NFC nine years in
nine Pro Bowls. His career marks are: 23 opponent
fumble recoveries, 28 blocked kicks and 173 sacks.

person who made me a Vikings fan. He went to High
School with my father, and was a great all around
kid in Superior. It was his stoic image on the
sidelines, that made me fall for the Mighty Vikings
as a young kid.Bud Grant's NFL coaching tenure began
in 1967. With an NFL record of 168-108-5 Bud is the
eighth winningest coach in NFL history. Bud Grant
led the Vikings to 11 divisional championships in
1968 through 1971, 1973 through 1978, and 1981. Bud
helped the Vikings win the 1969 NFL championship and
NFC titles in 1973, 1974 & 1976. Bud was
nine-letter athlete at the university of Minnesota.
Bud also Played in NBA, NFL, CFL before embarking on
coaching career in Winnipeg. Born May 20, 1927, in
Superior, Wisconsin.

Krause

Paul
Krause, a 6-3, 200-pound free safety from the
University of Iowa, became the leading pass
intercepter of all time with 81 steals during a
16-season career with the Washington Redskins and
Minnesota Vikings from 1964 to 1979. Krause, a
two-way star at Iowa, was the second-round draft
pick of the Redskins in 1964. Although he
intercepted 28 passes in his first four seasons, he
was traded to the Minnesota Vikings for linebacker
Marlin McKeever and a seventh-round draft choice in
1968. Krause excelled with the Vikings for 12 more
seasons before retiring after the 1979 campaign.
